Don't Let Insurance Carriers Decide What Your Services Are Worth

Out-of-network care gives providers greater clinical freedom, but it also comes with some of the industry’s toughest reimbursement challenges. Insurance carriers often reimburse below usual and customary rates, delay payments, request excessive documentation, or underpay claims, hoping practices won’t appeal. Many practices struggle with calculating allowable amounts, responding to payer disputes, tracking underpayments, managing appeals, and collecting patient balances.

Our specialized out-of-network medical billing services are built to help providers take back control of their revenue and secure the full, appropriate reimbursement legally available. For out-of-network providers, even a small reimbursement reduction can translate into tens of thousands of dollars in lost annual revenue.

When you outsource out-of-network billing to Health Med Affairs, our experts identify underpaid claims, pursue aggressive reimbursement recovery strategies, manage payer communications, and optimize every stage of the revenue cycle to ensure your practice receives the compensation it has earned.

Overcome the Biggest Obstacles in OON Reimbursement

Health Med Affairs delivers end-to-end OON billing solutions that help providers stop chasing payments, reduce reimbursement gaps, and collect more from every eligible claim. From eligibility checks to appeals and payment recovery, we manage the entire process with precision, persistence, and revenue-focused strategy.

We verify patient out-of-network benefits before services are billed, including deductibles, coinsurance, reimbursement limits, and plan restrictions.

Usual & Customary Rate Review

We review reimbursement patterns, allowed amounts, and payer payment behavior to identify when carriers pay below expected out-of-network rates.

Underpayment Identification & Recovery

We compare each payment with the expected reimbursement and pursue recovery when insurers underpay or incorrectly process out-of-network services.

Denial & Appeals
Support

Our experts respond quickly to denied OON claims with corrected documentation, appeal letters, medical necessity support, and payer follow-up to recover revenue.

Patient Balance & Statement Management

We help practices manage patient responsibility clearly and professionally, including deductibles, coinsurance, balance billing workflows & transparent communication.

Aggressive A/R
Follow-Up

We monitor unpaid claims, missing EOBs, and payer requests, then follow up consistently until claims move forward, payments are released, or next-step action is taken.

Reporting & Revenue
Optimization

Our team provides clear reporting on collections, denials, underpayments, payer trends, and claim performance, helping your practice make smarter financial decisions.

The Missing Piece Between Submitted Claims and Paid Claims

Most providers don’t realize how much revenue is lost through rejected superbills, inaccurate UCR calculations, missed appeals, and delayed patient follow-ups. A single formatting error can result in a denied reimbursement, while limited staff resources often leave thousands of dollars sitting in unpaid claims month after month.

That’s why providers turn to Health Med Affairs, a trusted out-of-network reimbursement company, to recover more revenue without adding more work to their team. Our specialists manage every aspect of out-of-network billing, from creating accurate superbills and tracking reimbursement requests to handling appeals and patient communications.

With a 95% superbill acceptance rate and payments arriving up to 40% faster than self-managed billing, we help providers spend less time chasing insurance companies and more time growing a profitable practice.

Thousands in OON Revenue Could Be Waiting to Be Collected

Insurance carriers count on providers being too busy to challenge underpayments, pursue appeals, and track outstanding claims. We don’t. Our specialists work relentlessly to maximize reimbursements, accelerate payments, and ensure your practice gets paid what it’s truly worth.

Revenue Leaks We Help Stop Before They Impact Your Bottom Line

Every unpaid claim, overlooked underpayment, and unresolved denial creates a direct loss for your practice. While many providers focus on seeing more patients, the real opportunity often lies in recovering revenue that’s already been earned but never collected.

No Surprises Act Compliance Built Into Every OON Workflow

Out-of-network billing has to follow the federal No Surprises Act, in effect since January 1, 2022, plus any state surprise-billing law that applies. We build these rules into eligibility, billing, patient statements, and payer disputes:

  • Protected services: Emergency care, non-emergency care by out-of-network clinicians at in-network facilities, and air ambulance services. Patient cost-sharing is limited to in-network amounts, and balance billing is not allowed for these services.
  • Notice and consent: Used only where the law permits it. It can never be used for emergency services or for ancillary services such as anesthesiology, radiology, pathology, neonatology, assistant surgeons, hospitalists, intensivists, and lab work.
  • Payment disputes: We track the 30-business-day open negotiation period and the deadline to start federal Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR), and we prepare your IDR submissions.
  • Good Faith Estimates: Uninsured and self-pay patients must get a Good Faith Estimate. If the final bill is $400 or more above it, the patient can use patient-provider dispute resolution.
Federal and state rules change, so we check current CMS guidance and the rules for your state before applying them. This is general information, not legal advice. Source: CMS No Surprises Act.
